Once a tightly-knit group, the Bucks Team has now drifted apart due to their new responsibilities. Jack, in particular, is tasked with training the upcoming Agurtan soldiers, although he harbors no desire for teaching. His predominant emotions are frustration and self-directed anger. He laments his inability to spend quality time with his friends, especially Bob, and is dissatisfied with his own inability to fully embrace their achievements. As a result, he seeks out perilous solo missions and consistently challenges himself to the utmost extent.
