The Red Crow Winder Type 12WDr, an SA designated for the Red Crow Squadron within the Republic of Yamato's Special Assault Units, is a lightweight model. It was a collaborative effort between Hiroshima Heavy Industry and Pacific Terminal Ltd. (PTL). PTL sourced advanced technologies and components from Europa through its global transportation network, though these were deemed somewhat outdated, originating from Agurts and Omanga technologies of the previous generation. Thus, researchers at Hiroshima Heavy Industry developed an SA tailored to Yamatoan military needs, specifically for urban warfare and high-speed pursuit of adversaries.

The Winder incorporates a motion control system with numerous motion sensing modules, providing an unparalleled level of sensitivity to the SA's movements. However, due to the machine's remarkable responsiveness, pilots of the Red Crow Winder Type 12WDr must undergo rigorous training as operating the cockpit can be physically demanding.
